In the Oroville School District, we:

  • Aim to provide an education for our students in a school community that embraces diverse learners.
  • Make every attempt to educate students with special educational needs in the least restrictive environment.
  • Ensure that a continuum of student needs based on individual assessment data (social/emotional, behavior, academic, communication, fine motor, gross motor) and parent input, is what forms the foundation for inclusive education services.
  • Believe that successful Inclusion is operationalized through Professional Learning Community (PLC) members who support each other in reviewing data, differentiating instruction, providing accommodations, modifications and supplementary aids and services to foster school-wide success.
This program planning option is offered at no cost to parents for students aged 3 to 22. Examples of services include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Early identification and assessment of disabilities
  • Psychological services for educational assessment
  • Modification of the course material within the regular classroom

Child Find Notice

What is Child Find?

Child Find is a component of the Individuals with Disability Act (IDEA 2004) that requires states to locate, identify, and evaluate all children with disabilities ages birth through 21, who are in need of early intervention or special education and related services.

The Oroville School District is required by WAC 392-172A-02040 to inform the community of the Special Education Services and programs available within the district. The State of Washington defines special needs as having concerns with: developmental delays, vision, hearing, health, communication skills, academic performance, social-emotional status, general intelligence, motor abilities, autism, traumatic brain injury, transition services or other disabilities.

People with children from birth to age 21, who have any of these conditions are encouraged to contact building principals at the school where your child would attend or contact the Special Education Director.
