Sun Bucks, also known as Summer EBT, is a program that provides a one-time $120.00 benefit per year to help families buy groceries for their school-aged children when meals aren't available at school during the summer months.

Below are several resources you can point households to if they have questions:

• SUN Bucks Contact Center: Households can call 833-543-3230 to learn whether a student’s benefit has been approved and if a card has been mailed. Households should also call the Contact Center to change their address.
• Sign Up for Text Alerts: If a student’s benefit has not been processed yet, households can sign up for text alerts to get customized updates about the status of their benefit and card.
• DSHS SUN Bucks FAQ: The SUN Bucks FAQ has been updated to reflect the card mailing delay.
• DSHS SUN Bucks Application: Students who became newly eligible after your last upload should complete a SUN Bucks application to receive the benefit.

If you did not receive a SUN Bucks card, you can still apply during the summer at sunbucks.dshs.wa.gov.

Families can text “FOOD” or “COMIDA” to 509-509 to instantly find nearby summer meal sites. This service is fast, free, and available in English and Spanish, helping eliminate barriers and connect kids to nutritious meals all summer long.
